A Little Dash of Car Repairs

I took the car in this morning after having a shower and a rest due to a poor night’s sleep last night. They put the tires on there at Jack’s, and I was not impressed about that taking an hour for two. Then they took it over for an alignment and after a long wait on that too, they came in to tell me that they could not do it till the CV boots were replaced. As it turns out, the innter boots are trashed. The outers are great, which I assume is because they were replaced over at Rich’s Car Rennovations… I mean Sales.

I expect I will get two new axles and change everything all at once, and have it fresh under there. Then it ought to last a minute longer. Of course, if you saw the car, you might indicate that it should just be driven to the dump while it can still move on its own.

So, I have new tires, and supposedly new TPMS devices, though I doubt it. The screen still reads it at fault on the system. Maybe it is on the back, but you know, I am pessimistic. The alignment on the car is already to work on trashing the new tires. There is another big repair to do, and I don’t want to pay out for them to do it, when I have doen the same job before, and know it is not that hard. Well, it wasn’t on the little Honda CRX I did it on back in the late 90’s. Is a Nissan easier? I will have to look at it on YouTube.

It would be nice if the car was all fixed up down below. But I think that is going to be on me to sort out.

Despite the interruption on my work day, I still brought in the better part of what I expect to earn on a Monday, so that is good. I hope this week will be better than last.

My daughter came with me for this last Dash of the day. It was lovely and nice to have her along. She finished the ride telling me the different aspects of US Government as a means of studying for her final. She did good. It was nice to hear she has learned as much as she has, and a good reminder of how complicated the government is. I was reminded of Walalce Shawn in The Incredibles. “They’re penetrating the beauraucracy!” It felt very much like a means of making all the wrong people rich and in charge. But, it is what it is.

Tomorrow is day off. I have errands to take the family on. I also have lunches to make. THen there are the banking chores and a few other things to do, like marketing a photography business. For now, I think a good night’s sleep is in order. Yes! It is!
