Today has been a little different than yesterday, for sure. In some ways, harder. I have felt the continued drop in calcium, I believe. I have been tingly through my arms and torso, and my head has not been all that clear. The wound itself has been mild, and I have not had any painkiller since the night of the surgery when I took two acetaminophen an went to bed. Considering the actual trauma of what happened in surgery, I am pleasantly surprised at this!
A quick Google search turns up that when calcium becomes deficient, one feels tingly. The deficiency comes of lowered PTH, which was the goal of the surgery in the first place, by reducing the parathyroid glands on the thyroid, and thus reducing the overactive state of them. When the remaining glands wake up, they will balance and produce the correct amount of PTH. I look forward to the many results of this, as one will be reduced insulin resistance and improved weight loss. But I also look forward to the improved digestion, and kidney function. The outcome is promising.
Meanwhile, I am on restrictions, and cannot be of much help around the house, which is really disastrous as there is a plumbing issue in the kitchen that I could fix if I could just get to it. It will have to wait.
I did get to drive the tractor today. Much like eating right now, it was thoroughly enjoyed! I do not know why things taste so much better to me right now. Flavors are fuller than before. Maybe this is a good time to be off salt. I wonder if the dullness will return? Or will this be a good time to make the change permanent?
It has taken me all day to get to it, but I set up a Silver Gelatine setting in the D850. Took a couple of photos of the bedroom ceiling tonight with it and had just dark enough exposure to capture the texture of the ceiling and walls, and it came out brilliant! I am going to have to mess about with this setting some more and see what I can create with it. I really like the look in the house, and wonder what outside will look like, especially in the morning or evening light, or under the willow tree? What will it look like in the shop where I have the option of excellent lighting control?

I watched Barry Lyndon last night, and yes, it truly was beautifully shot. That would be another camera setting to work out, in order to shoot like the film is shot. I could not fully mimic the, what was it, f/0.7 lenses, but my 1.8 could get close enough to at least experiment. The D850 could compensate with higher ISO than the 100 original shoot, as it keeps grain and noise down so low.
Swelling has gone down on my neck tonight, so not like last night. That feels a bit better. I am only a little tender there. I napped in the chair and then upstairs today. I slept upstairs from 4PM till 7PM. So, it being 9:30PM now, I am not really tired. But something tells me that if I sit here much longer, I am going to end up asleep anyway. I guess that is a good thing.
