So, it’s the 27th of April, 2026 and what do you know? We have snow on the mountains and it is cool enough to put a fire in the stove, and I have brought more wood up to the house. There is no end to this just mild enough spring. The forecast has us for the same all through the rest of the work week.
I worked today, and got myself some sushi for lunch only to crash out after due to low sugar levels. It was pretty harsh. I got to the point where I was about to sleep while driving, so I took a stop to use a clean loo, and find myself a cup of coffee. I did not sleep well last night, so I was not really aware that it was my blood sugars going down. I thought I was just tired. It was no till I got home and checked my sugars that I realized that I was feeling a lot more than just tired. A couple of homemade granola bars and supper soon after, and I feel loads better. It’s not the kind of thing that goes totally away with that, but I do feel a lot more energetic. There is still the lingering feeling in my arms and back and neck, but I think those will balance out after I sleep.
I got my chores done tonight, including bringing in firewood, cutting grass for the livestock, and even setting up a platform for a new bale of hay because I am going to buy one. The grass is too short still to sustain them. And it is a pain to cut when it is too short. I need a new platform because the shelter I have been putting the hay into is in a animal pen that I am going to be planting in this year, and I am going to use that shelter as a tool shed for the plantings. I will need to fix the weeder, and get the other tools including watering tools ready to go in there. I want them to hand, and easy to do the jobs out there. I really need to succeed at this garden this year.
Okay, so that is the most of it for this journal entry. I don’t have a lot going on at work other than chasing pennies and trying to gather enough gold, or tin to keep things going here. I have a lot of transitional work to do to get the summer going on the farm. I still have not recorded a YouTube video, and I certainly have not yet got my photo business up and ruining. 😉 (Yes, I know!) I need to get out and get the drawer fronts for my table cut then sized ready to start doing the blind dovetails on. They are to be my first. No stress.
