All Our Kids In One Place

I went into work today after dropping the girls off. Our oldest daughter was not feeling well, and I offered to let her come back to the house but she braved it and went in. Work was not good, and I got to sit for some 40 minutes at one point before I gave up. I admit the surrender was influenced by Miss coming home not feeling well after all. Also, my Missus started sending photos of our two granddaughters playing on the livingroom floor. Yeah, enough of this crap, I thought, and went home. I ran up to the school and picked up our youngest daughter so she could join in the fun.

Well, our oldest son came down with his wife and daughter, hence one of our granddaughters to play, and he was at work on our car when I got home. Took him a bit still, and when he got it finished, and we started it up, it ran rough. We ran the testing machine on it, and found it was misfiring. Then he messed about with the coil packs and at last found one in the back disconnected. Got that reconnected and after it ran a moment, it smoothed.

We drove it up and down the street, and when I started backing it up, it was stuck because of the brakes rusted, pads to the rotors. Then the brakes were rough as can be till I got a bit of speed up and braked hard enough to clean them up.

Alright, all that lead up to say we have a working car again. I need to get it a battery of its own, but I will use the one in the truck for now, and we have two working cars to use for the moment. I felt such a weight lifted from my shoulders. What a relief that is!

I went back to work for the evening and made of some of this morning’s losses. And that is the day today. Good to see both the boys and their daughters, and have my daughters around to see them.
